How I plan to represent you.

One of my first internships was with my local state representative in the Chicago suburbs where I grew up. What I learned from her was that it is important to care about your community and your constituents and you need to show up for them in all ways, big and small.

That is how I plan to represent you: by leading with curiosity, by asking questions, and by being a listener, a helper, and an advocate in whatever way I can.

As a Candidate for this ANC seat, I plan on having listening sessions with my neighbors during September 2026. This will help me better understand the issues, concerns, and ideas our neighbors have so I can better represent us on the Commission.

As a Commissioner, if elected, I plan on continuing to have listening sessions once a quarter ahead of the monthly ANC Business Meeting. This will allow constituents to know what is on the agenda for the upcoming ANC meeting and share any concerns or perspectives that would be helpful for me to know before the meeting. It will also be a chance for me to share information back with my constituents. I look forward to hosting these upcoming “Mondays with Manasi” sessions!

There are a few things I’d prioritize for the next two years:

Accountability. I aim to make our ANC more accountable to our community – to conduct more listening sessions and events that are responsive to our community’s needs in addition to holding our public meetings. I would also like for our DC government to be accountable to our SMD and ANC’s priorities and values by consulting with us more regularly.
Neighborliness. I believe strongly in modeling good citizen representation in our ANC. I would like to listen to my constituents, encourage kind cooperation amongst the commissioners, leverage our collective ideas and solutions to help our neighbors in the SMD and the ANC in making informed decisions on situations affecting our community.
Communication. I would like to build a strong communication network to make sure residents are informed of the issues affecting our SMD, the ANC, and local government, and also that the ANC is hearing from my constituents.
